Description

The Felt Sense Art Project empowers creative expression and self-awareness in a non-judgmental space that’s dedicated to integrative healing through creativity. We use many modalities including, but not limited to, meditation, Reiki, art-making to free the creative voice. Robyn Olds and Alice Shockey will be collaborating with the Devi Collective twice a month to hold art therapy groups for anyone wishing to get more in touch with their creative process. There is no previous art experience necessary, only a curiosity to explore and an openness to one’s inner-experience. We are here to offer a meditative experience combined with intuitive art-making that frees the creative impulse and encourages flow and deep healing. We will begin each group with a check-in and guided meditation to help you feel more in touch with the present and your felt sense of self. With a variety of healing tools including meditation, Reiki, art-making and visualization we will hold space for an exchange of insight and ideas. There will be plenty of time for art-making and individual exploration within the group. We hope you will leave feeling more in touch with your inner truth and empowered to create change. About Robyn and Alice // Robyn Olds, MPS, LCAT is a New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Advanced Reiki Practitioner. She received her master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy and Creativity Development at Pratt Institute and her advanced Reiki training at Maha Rose Center for Healing in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. She has been combining both of these modalities in monthly groups devoted to exploring the healing potential of visual Intuition and image making in Reiki treatment. She also leads I Ching art groups exploring synchronicity and archetypal patterns. Alice Shockey is a Visual Artist and Reiki Practitioner. She graduated from Oberlin College with a BA in Studio Art and received her Reiki level 1 and 2 Attunements at Maha Rose Center for Healing, where she also leads Art Themed Community Reiki. During a Healer Mentorship with Lisa Levine, Alice began to combine her visual art and Reiki practice, exploring a creative process of image making that emerged more from the body directly than from the mind. Alice has suffered from Lyme disease since early childhood, and it wasn’t until she began practicing Reiki and integrating it into her creative process, that she found empowerment and confidence in her ability to heal. Alongside her partner and Creative Art Therapist Robyn Olds, Alice is currently holding workshops in Brooklyn that combine Reiki and embodied meditation with a body tracing exercise that visually maps the individual experience.
