Come to speak or come even just to listen as we discuss how we identify, discover, and communicate our sexual challenges and sexual desires.

Lady Bits is held monthly and is facilitated and led by Emily Sauer, Brooklyn's sparky founder of OhNut, a playful sex education and advocacy product line addressing the challenges of pain during sex and by Jenn Louie, formerly of Le Petit Paquet, a subscription sex product and couples education company.

Intersectional Sexism Discussion

Intersectional Sexism Discussion

  • 343 Gold Street Brooklyn, NY, 11201 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

What is Intersectional Sexism and how does it apply to our lives, how we relate to one another and the future?

Different from her 2008 Primary campaign, Hilliary Clinton's campaign for President in 2016 served as a referendum on our collective understanding of what it means to be a feminist. After attending an event last Winter entitled, "Taking Back Feminism," our facilitator, Samantha Porter, was prompted to examine this statement. From whom/what is feminism being "taken back?"  Who of "us" is doing the taking? These early questions served as the starting point for a much deeper inquiry. They became the lens through which she started to question our collective understanding of feminism and where it intersects with our many identities. She hopes to continue this conversation by facilitating a thoughtful discussion focused on intersectional feminism.

About Samantha: Originally from Charlotte, NC, she came to the Northeast to to study German and Political Science at Temple University. She has earned a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. By day, Samantha works as a Consultant in a practice focused on Disaster Recovery. By night, she is an aspiring podcaster living in Brooklyn.

$5 Optional Contribution Request. The event is pay as you wish.
